Friday Fill-Ins: July 30

And...here we go!

1. I'm going to stop playing Jungle Jewels because it won't let me sleep.

2. Bungee Jumping and Sky Diving is what you call adventure and daring.

3. Perhaps today you can make it a point to stop judging me on my reactions. Yes, you. I'm talking to you my so-called friend.

4. Facing your fears and inner demons are a true adventurer’s spirit.

5. Compassion is not a weakness.

6. During lean seasons and hard times, one must stay hopeful, no matter how difficult.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to reading the book I've been trying to read, tomorrow my plans include buying a new hard drive and Sunday, I want to eat at Paddington House of Pancakes with my one true love (wish…)!

Come on and play!

Booking Through Thursday: Beach Buddies

Booking Through Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by Miz B of Should Be Reading.

This week's BTT is:

Which fictional character (or group of characters) would you like to spend a day at the beach with? Why would he/she/they make good beach buddies?

Uhm... This is hard. There are a lot of interesting characters I've encountered from years of reading. Okay now, I'm scanning my brain...

First, I want some girl bonding. I would like to hang out with some of the heroines of Susan Elizabeth Phillip's books. Let me see, there's Molly (the children's book writer), Jane (genius Physics professor), Blue (artist), Phoebe (Molly's sister and an NFL Team owner), Gracie (Mayor of Heaven, Texas), Isabel (America's diva of self-help) and Francesca (TV talk show host). Then throw in Parker (the wedding planner) and Alice (the vampire who can see the future). These women are brave, talented and are not afraid to fight for what they believe in. Hanging out with this eclectic mix will surely be interesting.

Hanging out at the beach wouldn't be complete without the arm candy. XD I'll pick Dean Robillard for this. He is gorgeous, he loves the beach and he can play football (not soccer). Perfect!

Waiting on Wednesday: Happy Ever After

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill of Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I'm a big Nora Roberts fan. I love her books, especially her trilogies. Her The Bride Quartet books were my recent read from the author. The first 3 books I did not quite enjoy because it doesn't have the usual Nora Roberts I look for in her books. Happy Ever After is the last installation of this series. Though the first 3 books did not come up with my expectations, I'm still anticipating for this last one. I'm hoping it will salvage the first 3 books.

Release Date: November 2010

Here's the book description from Amazon:

As the public face of Vows wedding planning company, Parker Brown has an uncanny knack for fulfilling every bride's vision. She just can't see where her own life is headed. Mechanic Malcomb Kavanaugh loves figuring out how things work, and Parker is no exception. Both know that moving from minor flirtation to major hook-up is a serious step. Parker's business risks have always paid off, but now she'll have to take the chance of a lifetime with her heart...

WWW Wednesdays

WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading.

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

* What are you currently reading?

* What did you recently finish reading?

* What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading? The Parable of the Pipeline by Burke Hedges

A recent acquaintance lent me this book which I think I just need. I need to get away from romance novels for about a day or two. When I start thinking of handsome princes, I know it's time to go back to earth.

What did you recently finish reading? The Marcelli Bride by Susan Mallery

I got hooked in Susan Mallery's books when I read her Desert Rogues series. Some are good, some have a shallow plot but they're fun to read. I then checked her Marcelli's series. The series has 5 books but I jumped to the 3rd and 4th book after reading some reviews on the first 2 series of the books. This is the 4th book. It's a good read. The heroine can keep you on your toes.

What do you think you'll read next? Déjà Dead by Kathy Reichs

I am quite interested to read her books ever since I got hooked in the TV series BONES. Dèjà Dead is the first book she had written. I guess I have to wait if her books are as good as the TV series.

“Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes that day happier.”

Monday Movie Meme: The Big Draw

A weekly movie meme hosted by The Bumbles Blog.

This week's Feature Presentation topic is The Big Draw... Animation! Share your blog on movies whose drawn, digitized or old school clay figures that rock your world.

Eventhough they are only animations, these movies also touched our hearts. Come on admit it. XD

A) The Land Before Time (1988)- Who can resist Littlefoot? Even if the theme song became the most overrated song after the movie was shown.

B) The Incredibles (2004)- I wish there was a sequel. I want to watch what happen to Jack-jack and the rest of the kids.

C) Wall-E (2008) - The little robot and his loneliness just grabbed at my heart.

D) Meet The Robinsons (2007) - What is with orphans? First Littlefoot, then Lewis. I was really surprise by this movie. I never expected it to be good.

E) Ice Age 2 (2006) - They had me at "Play dead" and "I believe I can fly".

Musing Mondays (July 26)

This is my first time participating on any Monday memes. I can't wait to dig in.

Musing Mondays is hosted by Miz B in Should be Reading.

This week's musing asks...

Do you review books? If so, for who?
If not, have you ever thought about doing so? Why, or why not?

I haven't done a book review ever, BUT... I really want to. I just don't know how to write one. Not to mention that I simply suck in composition. I know my vocabulary is better than good and my grammar is not atrocious either. But when it comes to putting my thoughts on paper or on a blog, it requires a lot of hard work for me. My writing usually just consist of 200 words or less. That's why I love Twitter! XD

If there's anyone out there willing to guide me through with this book review, feel free to contact me. I'll be your most willing student... but please be patient. (wink)

Friday Fill-Ins: No. 186

My first time to participate. I hope I can do justice.

1. I feel blessed with friends.

2. Because I got addicted playing Jungle Jewels, I have a lot of reading to catch up.

Not very original XD

4. Being a girl and going gaga over Formula1 and Rock n' Roll is completely unique. (Just my thoughts...)

5. It's hard to know how much of your bitterness can rule your life and make you miserable.

6. With anger, if acted on, danger follows suit.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleep early, tomorrow my plans include throwing a party and belt my heart out in karaoke and Sunday, I want to watch Inception!

Thursday 13: July 22

Missed

I wasn't able to participate in the memes from Monday until Wednesday, including my favorite Teaser Tuesdays =(. It's 12:04am in my clock that means it's already Friday but I'll catch up on the Thursday memes. I only have myself to blame. Sleep is still elusive and during the odd hours in the morning, instead of deep asleep, I'm voraciously reading a book or eagerly watching the latest episode of So You Think You Can Dance or playing Jungle Jewels like it's the last day of the earth. I'll strive to be consistent. (Note to self: Listen to yourself.)
